Man and his four-legged friend have always had a very close connection. This is not new to history. The man and the Dog are very close friends. They are the most faithful companions a man could ever have. Whether you have a dog as a pet or you adopt one, he will always be loyal to you.

Recently, a picture of a dog and a man—Roman Fernandez—went viral not because of anything but because of the emotions the picture shared. Also, there was an incredible, heartwarming story behind it. It was a reunion between the Dog and the man, which was very emotional for them. This person rescued the Dog a long time ago off the streets.
The Dog, Grettle, was rescued about nine years ago and found on the side of the road in a rural town in Costa Rica. Grettle was malnourished and skinny. She was assumed to be about four years of age. Roman took her home and nursed and cared for her. The Dog recovered very soon and was back in good health. Soon, she became Roman’s best friend. Not only that, Grettle was the Confidante and the roommate, too. The Dog was very loving and had a very tender personality. Life with Grettle has changed Roman’s daily routine a great deal.
Like most Boxers, this gentle giant was terrified of the noise. But as Roman had left Grettle enclosed in the front yard to go to the store for some errands, suddenly, there had been a show of noisy fireworks, a celebration.

Roman’s neighbor had left from the same gate they used to share at the same time as the fireworks display. Taking it as an opportunity, frightened Grettle has escaped home.
Though Roman came home in thirty minutes, he could not find Grettle in the backyard, so the search began.
Though Rona tried hard to look for her, asking the neighbors about her, she was unsuccessful. Some have spotted her once, but there was no trace after that.
Though they live in a small town in the central valley of Cota Rica, tracing this missing Dog took work. He published the news on Facebook and relied on word of mouth. He also joined many groups that published about lost dogs, adaptations, and dog lover sites. The friends also shared the news about Grettle, so the news about this lost Dog went viral in Costa Rica very soon. Roman also printed and distributed flyers among the crowd and door to door. He pinned larger ones in public and business places. Soon, the news became popular in the National Paper as well.
Though the news was posted, there was no luck except for some calls and messages on the posts. Though the post was re-posted, it was all the same. As the news went viral, there were messages from all over the world—Africa, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Australia, Canada, the US, and many other countries from Central and South America.
Every morning and evening, Roman would walk or drive day and night in search of the animal. The search was continued and always kept going.
Anyhow, Roman did not feel she was dead. It was unfortunate to think about her being lost, stressed, vulnerable, sick, or hurt. There was so much to think about, but Roman continued with his mission to look for the Lost Dog.
Then, after about four weeks of losing the Dog, Roman started getting news about Grettle near a large coffee plantation outside the town.
Immediately, Roman went to contact the people who were migrants and asked them to update Roman with the news about the Dog. A search party was formed to look for the Dog in the large coffee plantation. There was nothing new except for some clues. Roman took Grettle’s food bowl and even a sweaty T-shirt so the Dog would smell them and come to him.

Soon, the neighbors began to worry about Roman, who was trying hard to find the dig. Most of them said to give up, and some believed that Grettle would return when she needed it. But to Roman, Grettle was not just a dog. She was a faithful companion and a friend, so he was not ready to give up.
One morning, on day 34 of the search mission, Roman decided not to look for the Dog because the weather was terrible. It was raining hard. The day passed, but towards the evening, the rain stopped. So Roman thought of going for one final search to look for Grettle.
Roman spotted a dog about 3 kilometers from the coffee plantation. She was near the curve. Roman’s heart almost stopped, and he was too excited. He put on the emergency flashes and looked for the Dog in the coffee plantation. After calling her name several times, the beautiful boxer’s head popped out of the plantation. She came running towards Roman.
She emerged from the tall grass, wagging her tail and finally her whole body to greet Roman. He was crying to meet his lovely companion. It was a moment of mixed emotions. Soon, the Dog was carried home. The next day, Grettle saw the vet. She had lost 5 kilos but was in good health.
Roman adopted another rescue boxer named Bonn during Grettle’s absence. When she returned, Bonn had a little brother. It worked out well, and the duo started getting along and loving each other. Roman also started playing an active part in animal rescue.
